2007 Alaska Book Festival FAQs
The 2007 Alaska Book Festival will be held July 13-14, 2007, on UAF’s campus and at other local venues. We are working to develop creative writing sessions for fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
* The coordinators of the event: UA Press, UAF Rasmuson Library, UAF Summer Sessions.
* Festival committee members are: Robert Mandel, UA Press; James Huesmann, Rasmuson Library; Ron Inouye, Rasmuson Library; Michelle Bartlett, Summer Sessions, and Natalie Forshaw (program coordinator).
*Co-sponsors: Alaska Humanities Forum, Fairbanks Arts Association, Fairbanks North Star Borough Libraries, Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, International Arctic Research Center, Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, UA Auxiliary and Business Services, UA Geography Program, UA Press, UAF English Department, UAF Geophysical Institute, UAF Rasmuson Libraries.
* Guest speakers and workshop and session presentors will discuss topics relating to books and writing about Alaska. Some ideas we are working on: inviting a cookbook author to offer a cooking session at the Hutchison Center; panels to discuss publishing, writing for children, and nature writing and creative writing workshops or readings.
Tentative schedule: Friday: 2-5p.m.; Saturday: 9-12 noon, 2-5p.m; with guest lectures/readings held on Friday and Saturday evening.

Materials look great.
Because I will be traveling from the East Coast, I am hoping you can fly me to Fairbanks on July 12, so I can recover from jet lag.
Thanks for your attention.
