Program coming together!

You can read the minutes from the 3.08 meeting–the page is called 2007 Ak BookFest Meeting: 3.08.2007. At the meeting the committee discussed program ideas. We hope to finalize the draft program by the end of March and have April to fill in any gaps that remain. You can see the draft program in the 3.08 meetings.

What we’re working on now:

  • I’m matching authors to panels/sessions and will be looking for an author to serve as panel chair for each session–someone to lead and moderate the discussion.
  • Right now the sessions don’t really have topics–stay tuned! And send ideas my way!
  • Ron is working with local bookstores and coffee shops to host readings on Friday evening. The planning for who reads where will happen in April.
  • UAF Bookstore will be our book dealer. We are leaving enough time after sessions for book signing. There will also be signing tables at the Rasmuson Library, 4th floor, throughout the event.
  • Technology to be used during presentations will be supplied by Rasmuson Library’s Media Desk.
